Mr. Contini's Rules and Regulations

Rules

Students are expected to follow all school rules listed in the student handbook.  Additional rules pertaining to laboratory or other classroom safety will be clearly covered in class.  All students are to treat others with the attention and respect they would like to receive in return. 

Violation of Rules

1.     Verbal Warning for minor infractions of the class rules, more severe infractions: skip to #2

2.     Phone Call to Parent/Guardian, if more severe: skip to #3

3.     Written Referral to Counselor and possible detention

**Violations of the Class/School Rules will have a direct effect on your Citizenship Grade**

 Tardy Rule

  1. 3 consecutive tardies in any week will result in a detention.
  2. This will directly affect your Citizenship Grade.

Science Supplies

  1. Science Section in a 3-Ring Binder with 2 sections (use the same binder for other classes as well, this helps organization)
    1. Homework/Classwork
    2. Tests/Quizzes
  2. (2) Composition Books with at least 100 pages, for Reading Notes and Lab Reports (college-ruled preferred)
  3. Pen (black or blue only), use colored pens for corrections
  4. Pencil: #2 or mechanical pencils

Grading Policy

Your grade depends on 2 factors: Mastery Work at grade level which includes Tests, Projects, or Lab Reports, and Effort on Homework, Classwork, and Reading Notes assignments.    <>

Parents/Guardians

We will be utilizing an online gradebook where you can track your student’s progress throughout the year.  In addition we will be putting together a monthly newsletter that will highlight the activities of the class and will inform you of major upcoming events in science.  In order to maintain as much communication as possible I will need you to complete the information below and return it immediately.
