Objective:

I am a fourth year Middle School Science Teacher in search of a challenging and rewarding environment where I can utilize my skills as an educator, scientist, trainer, and leader.  I have over 3,600 hours of Presentation experience, with an average audience size of 35 individuals.  My presentations and lessons address the various needs of my audience, involving hands-on activities, verbal lecture, visual aid, as well as technology use whenever applicable.  As an educator, I am able to veer from my predetermined plans; modifying my presentations at a moments notice to adjust to the level of my audience.  I am currently serving my second term as the Science Department Chair at Herbert Hoover Middle School in San Francisco, California.  I also serve as the Teacher Leader in Science for my school on a Board of other teachers, developing a skill set curriculum to be used District-Wide in the following school term.  I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from UC Santa Cruz and a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Biological Sciences from San Francisco State University.  I have been teaching at Herbert Hoover Middle School as a 7th (Life Sciences) and 8th (Physical Sciences) grade Science teacher.  My reputation with students, parents, faculty, and the administration is outstanding, and have received nothing but high-praise concerning my use of technology and hands-on approach of teaching.  These are just a small sample of the skills and drive that I carry into my work.  I am looking for an environment that will not only utilize the skills that I bring to the table, but will provide me with a highly challenging environment in which I can excel and grow.
